The Dish Network remote control is designed to work as a universal remote control. Meaning that, it works on both the Dish Network receiver and other devices like your TV, home theater and DVD player. The remote control is pre-programmed to work on Dish Network receivers. But to use the remote on any other device, you have to sync or program the remote to the device.
To program your Dish Network remote to any device, you need the Dish remote codes. This is especially true for old model remotes like the 20 and 21 series. For new Dish Network remote modes like the 54.0, 52.0, 50.0, 40.0, you don’t need a remote code.
In this article, you will find the step-to-step guide on how to program your Dish remote without codes. Note that it only works for new model remotes. For older models, you need the remote codes to complete the process.
